248 DinerThe award is the highest tribute that the association of professionals can pay to a business, corporation or individual conducting commerce within the township boundaries of Palmer. It is intended to recognize significant physical improvement to existing properties, as well as new structures, which through the free-enterprise system in turn make an outstanding contribution to the business climate of the township.

This years Civic Trust recipient is the new 248 Diner. In the picture above Debbie Young presents the award to John Gougoustamos.

Diner 248 is owned and operated by brothers Stavros and John Gougoustamos.  Purchased in May of 2008, Stavros and John supervised the total renovation of what use to be the Jack Creek Steakhouse. The entire building was gutted and they redesigned the dining areas and kitchen, remodeled the bathrooms and updated the electrical and HVAC systems.  The only original piece in the entire restaurant is the bar top on their full service bar.

Outside, the building was painted and the landscaping was cleaned up to welcome their customers.  Our community opinion has been very positive and Diner 248 is a nice addition to our area.

Diner 248 offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus; they have specials on Monday through Friday, and they extend a Senior Citizen menu Monday through Thursdays.  It is a family friendly atmosphere with a variety of menu options to satisfy every taste.  The crumb pies and custard pies are homemade as well as their seasonal offerings such as pumpkin pie and apple dumplings.

We recognize Diner 248 with the Civic Trust Award for the improvements made and Congratulate Stavros and John.
