This year, it was decided to give an additional award, one to recognize dedication, volunteerism, service and a well deserved retirement.

Jerry Kemmerer has been a member of BIP and served as chairman on our Economic Development Committee.  He has been active with our booth at Palmer Township’s Community Weekend and served on the Awards Banquet Committee. Jerry was the BIP president in 2002.

BIP is a business association that is dedicated to our community.  Jerry fit right in, he is a business man dedicated to his community.  Jerry has volunteered on many area boards, namely Easton Suburban Water Authority, Easton Area Joint School Authority, Children’s Home of Easton, Two Rivers Health Foundation, Palmer Kiwanis, the American Red Cross - Easton Chapter, the Board of Easton Hospital and the United Way.

Jerry started his career in banking at Easton National Bank in 1949.  He has worked at 8 area banks, his most recent being Commerce Bank, where he retired from on October 31st.   58 years of banking!  Just imagine the lives he changed over those 58 years by saying “yes, we can help you”.

Jerry and his wife, Patricia, will soon be moving to Elizabethtown, PA.  They will be closer to their son, Jeff who resides in Hershey, and their daughter Laurie who resides in Downingtown.  They have four grandchildren.

We wish Jerry a long, happy and healthy retirement.  Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and Palmer Township thanks him for his many years of dedicated service.
